E-commerce

So you want to open an e-commerce store?

Starting an online e-commerce store, is one of the simplest and most affordable ways, of making your dreams of working from home true!

With the banks not lending out much capital (that is cold hard cash! ) getting a traditional loan to start a business is like giving birth without an epidural. Luckily opening an e-commerce boutique affords you many options not available to brick & mortar stores like the ability to not have to buy inventory and dropship most or all of your items. Yes that's right, you may not actually stock anything!

The first step to starting your online store is to purchase a domain name. Domain names can be bought online from ChickGeek.com Domain Name Regisration or through hosting providers.

Tip: When picking out your domain name go for something short & memorable! Trust me on this- my first domain was very (VERY) long and through the course of the years typing it over and over again has been a tiring process...

So you've got a domain name and what next? Well you'll need to have it hosted so that you can add content to it.

"There are a thousands upon thousands of host companies out there where do I start? I don't know anything about what I need...."

Well we host and provide shopping carts too!  Check out our hosting page to learn more.

Once you've gotten your site hosted, you'll need a website!  That's where we come in.

"What are my options for templates? I have no clue about html!"

Well you have lots of options!

If your on a budget, like most businesses starting out- consider buying a premade template. Most premade templates are only sold a limited number of times. The only down side to this is that there may be simular stores using the same template as your business.

If building brand recongition is super important and need unique concept for your site, you'll want to go with a custom designed site.

My template has been installed and my site looks fabulous! Now what?

Add lots of keyword rich content to your pages & your products silly and you're ready for your online debut!
